San Luis Obispo is a Central Coast college town home to Cal Poly and the historic Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, ringed by the Nine Sisters volcanic peaks. It is often ranked among America's happiest, most laid-back cities.
Higuera Street closes every Thursday evening for a farmers market that doubles as the town meeting. Distance Reiki fits around a week like that without asking anyone for a commute. Custom blends are mixed to order in Michigan and posted straight to your door.
Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa dates to September 1, 1772, the day Junipero Serra celebrated the first Mass on this ground. Incorporation came on February 16, 1856, and no other town in the new county got there first. Two of the landmarks people come for are young ones, and both are unserious in the best way. In 1958 Alex Madonna built his inn, and he gave every room a decor of its own. Downtown, one alley has been layered with chewed gum from roughly 1960 onward, and it now earns a place on the itinerary. Cal Poly sits beyond the city limits, though its address reads San Luis Obispo.
