Des Plaines once grew over a million flowers a year and earned the name City of Roses for it. A place that knew greenhouse work at that scale understands the premise behind flower essences, which begin with blossoms, water, sunlight and steady attention rather than speed.
Daily life just north of O'Hare runs on flight schedules, early shifts and the traffic that stacks up around the airport. A distance session fits that rhythm, because you keep the appointment from your own kitchen table instead of adding one more drive.
French explorers called the tree-lined river La Riviere des Plaines, and the city still carries that name today. The same low, well-watered ground later made this corner of northwest Cook County the region's greenhouse capital, with rose growing done under acres of glass. Then in 1955 Ray Kroc opened his first McDonald's here, and Des Plaines became known worldwide for something entirely different. A city nicknamed both City of Roses and City of Destiny holds two truths together. It grew things slowly under glass, and it changed the country quickly from one counter on one street. Flower essence work keeps company with the first truth, while distance sessions respect the pace of the second.
